If anyone could tear me away from the love of my life (thinking of you Slate), it'd be Dave McKean. It's not just the beautiful darkness of his work that appeals to me, it's also the sheer imagination inherent in it and the way he makes it seem as if the realm of fantasy isn't that far removed from that it which we dwell.
